Kitten with Fuzzy Hair and Unbridled Energy Thrives With Help of Other Cats, and Finds Family of Her Dreams

A kitten who came to the shelter all alone, began to thrive with the help of other cats and a foster family.

A kitten was brought to a shelter in San Jose, California as a singleton. She was in need of a foster home and a lot of socialization. Laura Malone of Mini Cat Town didn't hesitate to take her into her care.

The kitten named Roz was covered in dust. After a much-needed bath, her coat went from brown to light grey. She turned into a tiny baby bear with her fuzzy hair, big paws and long whiskers going in all directions.

"She purred loudly the minute she saw me and loved sitting in my lap while I pet her," Laura shared with us.

"Roz is a character. She loves people and is not afraid at all. She ferociously makes biscuits (kneads) as if her life depends on them."

As a single kitten, Roz didn't have the concept of boundaries or how to play gently with her human friends. As soon as she settled in, her rambunctious side came out in full swing.

"She loved to nip playfully and scratch attack. She was a crazy little dynamo. She made little squeaks and chortles as she zig-zagged around her pen," Laura added.

The kitten was packed with so much energy that she didn't seem to have an off switch.

Laura and her family began to work on teaching her to calm down around people and cuddle.

"We did this by making sure she had a lot of toys and stuffed animals to play with. She loved to climb, wrestle her stuffed animals, and run around."

Their resident cat Mochi came to offer a helping paw. He took the kitten under his wing, showed her the ropes and taught her how to harness her unbridled energy.

"He was so helpful and patient with this little one."

Blueberry, the resident Siamese, didn't want to put up with Roz's shenanigans and laid down the rules for the little trouble-maker.

"Unlike Mochi, he is not going to try and be a 'cool uncle' to any of these fur babies. He was teaching Roz to respect his boundaries. I was surprised she was actually listening."

With the help of the older cats, Roz began to learn to rein in her energy, be gentle with people and even grew to enjoy cuddles.

"This girl is nonstop. But when she finally slows down, the cuddles and purrs are totally worth it!"

When it came time to find her a forever home, they knew Roz needed a very playful buddy to roughhouse with.

"With her high energy and super smart personality, we knew she'd need a kitty friend who could keep up!"

Around that time, Maansi from San Fransisco was looking for a companion for her beloved cat Merlin.

"Merlin was such an energetic little kitten and we felt that he could use a playmate," Maansi told us.

She came across Roz on Instagram and was instantly smitten with her fierce and fiery personality. She knew the kitten would keep Merlin on his toes.

She reached out to the rescue and it turned out to be the perfect match.

Roz (now renamed Pari) moved into her new home and quickly claimed it as her own. Within a few days, the little spitfire and her new friend Merlin really bonded.

"They became best friends, thick as thieves," Maansi shared.

"Pari was still really small, so Merlin played the role of big brother, teaching her how to use the litter box and grooming her. In return, she provided him with endless entertainment and became his trusted accomplice in his mischief."

Now that Pari has found a big brother who shares the same level of zest, the kitten follows his lead and together they go around the house, plotting all sorts of antics.

When they need to recharge, they curl up next to each other and fall asleep as a duo.

"These two have brought more joy and endless entertainment to us in the last few months than we could have ever thought imaginable."

"They're growing up fast, but it is truly wonderful to watch them grow closer to us and to each other as time goes on."
